Panasonic Group in Thailand is moving forward with its corporate social responsibility project "Panasonic Cares" under the concept "For the Wellbeing of People, Society, and the Planet," reinforcing its dedication to conducting business with a focus on sustainable health and well-being, safety, and comfort for individuals, society, and all life on Earth. Under this initiative, the group has set a goal to provide products and engage employees in activities that support hospitals, medical personnel, schools, and environmental initiatives in communities across the country. To pilot the project, Panasonic's team, led by management and employees along with business partners in Khon Kaen Province, united to deliver products in support of the work of medical personnel at Nam Phong Hospital and Ubolratana Hospital in Khon Kaen Province.
Mr. Hidekazu Ito, CEO of Panasonic Group in Thailand, said that over the past six decades, Panasonic Group in Thailand has been a part of the Thai business landscape and considered Thailand its second home. During this time, the group has consistently focused on initiatives aimed at giving back to the Thai society. This year, the group has embarked on a collaborative mission to make a meaningful contribution to the Thai community, aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) with a particular emphasis on Good Health & Well-Being, Quality Education, and Life on Land.
At the heart of this endeavor lies the establishment of a social project, 'Panasonic Cares,' under the concept of 'For the Wellbeing of People, Society, and the Planet.' The project underscores Panasonic's dedication to operating a business while prioritizing sustainable health and well-being, safety, and comfort for individuals, society, and all life on Earth. The goal is to supply products that benefit society while actively engaging our staff in various community support activities. This will begin in the provinces where Panasonic's factories are located, namely Khon Kaen, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Pathum Thani, Samut Prakan, and Chonburi, where, in the latter, Panasonic is also the official sponsor of Chonburi Football Club. The initiative will then expand to other provinces across the country.
Piloting the project, executives and staff representatives from the head office and Panasonic Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd. in the Khon Kaen branch, located in Nam Phong District, came together to provide 500 energy-saving LED light bulbs in support of the medical personnel at Nam Phong Hospital. These LED light bulbs were received by Dr. Uros Singngam, Director of Nam Phong Hospital. During this event, Mr. Chinnakorn Kaenkhong, Nam Phong District Chief Officer, were also present to witness the product handover. Furthermore, 200 energy-saving LED light bulbs and a refrigerator, model NR-BX421BPST, with a capacity of 380 liters, were provided to Ubolratana Hospital. These products were received by Dr. Apisara Thamrongvarangkul, Director of Ubolratana Hospital. Mr. Karn Thongsen, Ubolratana District Chief Officer, and Mr. Arkhom Panyakaew, Ubolratana District Public Health Executive, also attended the event to witness the handover.
Panasonic Manufacturing (Thailand) Co., Ltd., Khon Kaen branch, has expanded its production and investments by opening a new manufacturing building in July 2022. The expansion enhanced employment opportunities and improved the employees' long-term standard of living. Additionally, the company hopes this factory will benefit the communities in the Nam Phong District of Khon Kaen and Thai society. Working together with our local employees to jointly uplift the community's quality of life is a source of pride for us. Panasonic also has plans to enhance various other aspects of life quality for the people of Khon Kaen Province," added Mr. Hidekazu Ito.
